At Faeye Photography, I believe in the beauty of every person. Our teenage years are a huge part of establishing who we are in the world and how we take pride in ourselves. I have taken a pledge to never make images that over-sexualize teens, and I intend to use my art to promote the beauty of every person, and every teen.
Those of you who know me know that while photography is my job, business, and career, it is also my hobby. I love it when I get the opportunity to do something fun and amazing. In this instance, a client of mine mentioned that she felt like the lead character in the movie "27 Dresses". She had a closet full of prom gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and ballet costumes. I told her that we could have some fun with one of these and do one of my Wreck the Dress sessions. BethanyI love doing Trash and Wreck the Dress sessions for my clients (always free if I've photographed you before!), and was excited to see what she would choose. To my surprise she actually chose an old ballet costume that still fit. I chose the location of the lovely Woldumar Nature Center on a misty spring afternoon, and just like that, we had a Wreck the Tutu session instead! We may have gotten lost on the trails, soaked through our shoes, and ended up covered in mud, but I'm thrilled with the images we ended up with and can't wait for that next serendipitous opportunity to present itself! Thanks Bethany, you were a great sport! Don't forget to check out the slideshow below for all the images from this great session!
Remember those terrible prom photos you have stuffed in a closet somewhere? Either a family member took them, which generally means they're crooked with way too much headroom, your eyes were closed, or they're just plain terrible, OR they're those cheesy posed things in front of a ridiculous backdrop you had taken as you walked through the door. I remember mine. I had my eyes closed in most of them, and in the rest I looked annoyed beyond belief! HHS PromHow annoying, your parents hanging around fawning over you and telling you to smile. Not to mention the last person who knows how to even take a picture, let alone make you look great in one, is probably your parent with tears in their eyes. Luckily, custom photographers like myself can take away this pain. Remembering my own prom experience (and homecoming, and every other formal dance), I decided to offer my clients a Limited Edition Mini-Session to help them out of this problem. It is the Formal Dance Fashion Session! They are offered on a first come, first serve basis. Once my time slots and days are filled, they're filled. These sessions can be applied to almost anything your parents would want to take photos of: homecoming, prom, winter formals, even dance recitals. Just call me. I'll confirm my availability on the date, and you choose a time slot that isn't already filled. HHS PromSimple! The sessions are free for my True Beauty Model Program Spirit Models and Spirit Model Coordinators, and a very low price for everyone else (send me a message for pricing information). You'll get images uploaded to facebook to share with your friends, as well as a private online order gallery so that you don't forget those 5x7's for grandma. As proof of concept, I had the opportunity to photograph some Holt High School students this year, and they really rocked it, even though it started to rain on us! I know we can have a lot of fun with this, so don't suffer through those painful paparazzi sessions with parents and family again.
"The pictures are gorgeous! You were so sweet, thank you so much!"
